Some kids may start expressing interest in having a boyfriend or girlfriend as early as age 10 while others are 12 or 13 before they show any interest. There is no law about when children can be allowed to date; however there are many laws regarding who children can date and what children can do with whom they date. For example it is illegal for a 10 year old to date an 18 year old, and children under a certain age cannot consent to sexual activity.
