Question: How far should a pool filter be from the pool?

It is usually located within 40or 50 of the pool, but could be further away if needed.

How far can filter be from above ground pool?

The filter should be able to connect to all the necessary pool water lines and be no more than six feet above the pools water level.

How far away from the pool does the pump need to be?

Allow a minimum of 12 inches of clearance between the sides of your heat pump and all walls and objects. To be safe, we at AquaCal recommend allowing 24 inches of clearance. Allow five feet of clearance between the top of your heat pump and all roof overhangs, tree branches, and other objects.

Can pool equipment be next to pool?

If possible we recommend keeping your equipment within the fenced area of the pool. This too will make it much easier to access your pool equipment. If its not possible for the equipment to be installed within the fence area we highly recommend adding a gate close to the pool equipment.

Can I leave pool pump outside?

Keep it on a low shelf so it wont fall or roll. If you keep your motor outdoors all winter, you could build a lean-to with lumber or plastic for snow, rain and tree branches, but keep good air flow around the motor, and dont wrap it in plastic, which traps moisture inside the motor.

How often should I run my pool filter?

Overall, the lessons learned today is you should run your pool pump an average 8 hours a day to properly circulate and clean your water. The pump should push your entire pool in gallons in this 8 hour period of time. Residential pool water only needs to be turned over once daily to have proper filtration.
